The Memphis Daily News once described this Sydney trio as "the keepers of the cool in the business of the blues".

Whether performing their own material or songs by writers they admire, The Stayers are sure to have you smiling and tapping your feet playing a stripped back, feel good style of blues. Well crafted songs with great lyrics and cool groove, that's what The Stayers are all about.

Andrew Yabsley on double bass and vocals,
Bill Gunther on lead guitar and
Steve Innis on rhythm guitar, harmonica and vocals,

The Stayers are a Sydney and South Coast based Blues band who play a mixture of blues standards and original songs. They played as an electric band in the blues venues in the inner west of Sydney in the 1990’s and have recently reformed as an acoustic outfit.

Their sound is characterised by the warmth of Steve’s vocals, the flair and colour of Bill’s guitar and the rhythmic strength of Andrew’s double bass. Their acoustic line-up means they are suited to any venue from an intimate club or party to the concert or festival stage. The Stayers are based in Sydney and the South Coast. They were the Sydney Blues Society’s Blues Performers of the Year in 2006. In 2007 they travelled to Memphis Tennessee where they were Semifinalists in the International Blues Challenge. As well as playing in clubs on the legendary Beale St – the home of the blues – they performed on Memphis television.

Recently, they have released an album of original songs. Special guests on the album include
Clayton Doley (Hammond) and
Rob Grosser (drums).

The album spent 3 months in the top 10 in the National Blues Chart in 2014.
